SAN ANTONIO – Six UTSA soccer student-athletes have earned a spot on the 2024 Academic All-District Women’s Soccer Teams, as selected by College Sports Communicators. All first-time honorees, Maci Geltmeier, Jasmine Kessler, Rylee Low, Zoё May, Michelle Polo and Jordan Walker each received recognition.
Finishing her second year as a graduate transfer from Louisiana Tech, Geltmeier played in all 18 games this season with seven starts, taking 14 shots. Across her UTSA career, she’s logged 36 games with 13 starts, taking 26 shots in 1,289 minutes for the Roadrunners. The Cleburne, Texas native will graduate this fall with her master’s degree in Finance while carrying a 3.83 grade point average. She was named to last year’s American Athletic Conference All-Academic team.
In her first year eligible to receive Academic All-District honors, Kessler has been a steady force between the pipes for the Roadrunners over the past two years. The Spring, Texas native sophomore goalkeeper started all 18 games this season and is up to 30 consecutive starts at UTSA. Already making waves in the UTSA career records, including the frontrunner for goals against average (0.79), Kessler made 61 saves this season on an .803 save percentage, recording five solo clean sheets of seven total – finishing the season with a program fourth-best season GAA of 0.86. A Criminology & Criminal Justice and Psychology double major with Spanish minor, Kessler holds a 3.80 GPA and has already earned one placement on the AAC All-Academic Team as well as appearances on the UTSA President’s and Dean’s Lists during her time at UTSA.
A first-year transfer at defender, Low played in all 18 games and earned a spot in the starting XI as UTSA entered conference play, making 12 starts with three assists and three on-target attempts in four shot chances. A junior from Midland, Texas, Low has a 3.88 GPA in Medical Humanities with a Pre-Advanced Practice Provider concentration, earning a UTSA President’s List spot after transferring to UTSA at mid-year.
Another mid-year transfer, May jumped right into the UTSA lineup and started all 18 games as a defender, including 14 contests going the full 90. Originally from Ottawa, Ontario, May recorded one goal and one assist off 4-of-8 shots on target this year. Collecting a 3.91 GPA as a Kinesiology major with an Exercise Physiology major with a Psychology minor, May was a member of the UTSA Dean’s List in her first semester at UTSA.
Another first-eligibility sophomore, Polo boosted her on-field contribution in 2024, starting 14 of 18 games for the Roadrunners. The Magnolia, Texas midfielder tied for the team lead with four assists, while pacing the Roadrunners with 30 shots in 1,112 minutes this season. In the classroom, Polo holds a 3.83 GPA in Nutrition and Health, appeared on last year’s AAC All-Academic Team and has been on the UTSA Dean’s List and Honor Roll into her third semester as a Roadrunner.
Closing out her four-year career at UTSA with her first Academic All-District honor, Walker started 16-of-18 games this season at forward, scoring one goal with three assists off a team second-most 27 shots. In total, Walker played 75 games for UTSA games for the Roadrunners, making 34 starts with six goals (including two game-winners) and seven assists on 69 career shots and a .435 SOG average. Coming to San Antonio out of Burleson, Texas, Walker has a 3.59 GPA on her BBA in Management, and was a member of the 2023 AAC All-Academic Team, in addition to two Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll awards, three appearances on the UTSA Honor Roll, one President’s List honor and one appearance on the Dean’s List. She was also a member of the 2022 CUSA Championship squad that advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
